Spark curiosity and build problem-solvers! In this hands-on class, students design, build, and code simple robots using kid-friendly LEGO® kits. Each session blends creativity with bite-sized engineering challenges so beginners feel confident and returning students keep leveling up.
What students learn
Engineering basics: gears, axles, levers, and stable structures
Coding fundamentals: sequencing, loops, events, and simple sensors
Design thinking: plan → build → test → improve
Collaboration & communication: working in pairs to share ideas and roles
Skills & standards connections

Measurement, cause-and-effect (STEM)
Early computer science practices (sequencing, debugging)
Ties to NGSS engineering practices and CSTA K-5 CS concepts
Provided in class
All LEGO® kits and tablets. Students do not need to bring materials other than a water bottle and snack.
