Join Space Coast Academics for an unforgettable day of outdoor exploration at the Environmental Learning Center in Vero Beach! Students will discover the incredible ecosystems of Florida's Indian River Lagoon through hands-on adventures led by ELC naturalists.

Our Lagoon Day Activities Include:
🛶 Canoeing – Paddle through the calm waters of the lagoon while learning about the plants and animals that call this unique estuary home.
🐟 Seining – Work together to pull a seine net through the shallow water and discover fish, crabs, shrimp, and other fascinating marine life up close.
🌱 Mangrove Marsh Walk – Explore one of Florida's most important coastal habitats as you learn how mangroves protect shorelines, provide wildlife habitat, and keep our lagoon healthy.
This immersive field trip is perfect for curious learners who love science, nature, and hands-on experiences. Students will gain a deeper appreciation for Florida's diverse ecosystems while enjoying a day of adventure, exploration, and discovery.
What to Bring:
Closed-toe shoes that can get wet
Comfortable clothing appropriate for the weather
Water bottle
Sunscreen and hat
Packed lunch and snack
Come ready to paddle, explore, and experience one of Florida's most beautiful natural treasures!
$40 per student (direct-pay approved)
Parents MUST accompany children.
